The lake itself is a beautiful natural expanse of water set amongst shady gum trees. Seasonally, thousands of glorious water lilies line the banks in the shallow water. This lush oasis is home to a vast array of birds and native animals, making it an ideal location to birdwatch and photograph some of Quilpie Shire's unique wildlife. Only a ten-minute drive from Quilpie, the Lake is an ideal spot for a scenic picnic, a refreshing swim, or to watch a magnificent sunset. Visiting this beautiful, natural lake teeming with native birds makes it difficult to believe this is outback Queensland. Powered sites with amenities are available on the east side of the lake and unpowered camping is available, with (east side of the lake) or without (west side of the lake) amenities. Please keep in mind that The Lake is on private property which is a working sheep & cattle property. Please treat this beautiful area with respect and do not drive elsewhere on the property. Open fires are permitted but only when the weather permits. If there is a fire ban, obviously no fires are allowed. Please be aware that, due it the surroundings, you must be able to contain your own grey water when camping at The Lake. You cannot discharge over the ground! Please remember this is a bush track so drive to the conditions. The road is suitable for caravans and camper trailers but only in good weather. There is some mobile phone service (depending on your carrier) and television reception here. EFTPOS available. Dogs are welcome at this campsite but please be responsible!

Stayed a couple of days. What a great camp. The caretakers were wonderful and we had the best happy hour at the kitchen. Will be back.. Thanks guys..

Would have loved to stay here again but the road in was covered in water and looked very muddy. Maybe next time.

Amazing spot - we camped by the lake in the self sufficient area. Loved the sunset over the lake and morning was just magic. Caught some blue claw in traps bought at post office in town. Amenities short walk or drive up to homestead- very clean and beautiful lush gardens. Fantastic working station. Thank you for the stay.
