**UPGRADES UNDERWAY - SELF CONTAINED ONLY** Fraser Coast Regional Council has developed a work plan to progressively upgrade the Scarness Caravan Park over the next 18 months. Under the plan, work will occur in a series of stages to minimise the impact on local businesses and park guests, and ensure parts of the park open for self contained caravans and RVs as soon as possible. The decision follows recent testing that identified the need to replace underground electrical cabling throughout the entire park. Council is hoping for the eastern section to be opened by September 2020 as a self-contained caravan and RV site for about 40 campers. Construction of a newly designed, fully serviced caravan park with start in 2021. During the construction period, fees for self-contained caravan and RV campers will be half the current rates for unpowered sites with an adjustment made for any waterfront sites. ------- Calm pristine waters front the park with sandy beaches ideal for the kids to play on with safe swimming all year round. Sea-lovers delight in such easy access to every possible aquatic pursuit, from sailing to water skiing, swimming to snorkelling, or simply sitting and watching the waves. Stroll across the street and you'll have your pick of shops, hotels, cafes and restaurants. Sightseers might want to delve into Hervey Bay's fascinating past at the Hervey Bay Historical Museum. Nature lovers can enjoy a variety of day trips with bus pick-up for Fraser Island Tours, Lady Elliot Island Tours and Whale WatchTrips (July-November). You'll find yourself close to the largest shopping centres, as well as the cinema, great dining and entertainment at a selection of restaurants, cafes, hotels and Hervey Bay's ultra modern RSL Club.

Wazrob your review is disappointing. We have stayed here 8 nights and have had a beautiful stay. An incredible spot. Everybody who checks in at the office is advised not to leave anything of value outside while you leave your site. Or if you need to, put a chain around anything that may be of interest to others!!!!! It makes sense to be aware of this anywhere you stay, not just here. We will definitely be returning to this piece of paradise

Great park right on the beach and close to shops and a walking/bike path. Unfortunately it is spoiled by the locals helping themselves to your gear during the night. Left after 1 night even though we had booked for more. We had items stolen and did not feel safe. After conversations with others this seemed to be the norm. This really spoils a nice town.
