Description
Highfields Falls is a great place to visit for bird watching. There are two one-way walks (Bowerbird and Cuckoo-Dove walks) and five circuits in this park, all named after birds that live in the area (Yellow Robin, Lorikeet Walking, Rosella, Kingfisher and Golden Whistler walking circuits). The walks are relatively short but very pleasant with many photo opportunities. Please leave your pets at home.
Highfields Falls is situated about 13km north of Toowoomba and has three access points:
James Byrne Road - From Toowoomba, travel north on the New England Highway, turn right onto Recreation Reserve Road and drive for 1.4km into James Byrne Road where you can park your car at the park entrance.
Barber Road - This entrance is perfect for long vehicles, or if towing a caravan or trailer. From Toowoomba, travel north on the New England Highway, turn right onto Recreation Reserve Road, turn right onto James Byrne Road and then left into Barber Road. Park your car at the park entrance.
Kleve Road - From Toowoomba, travel north on the New England Highway, turn right at the traffic lights to the south of Dau Road and at the end of the road park your car at the park entrance on Kleve Road.
