120 million year old Thundereggs and Spherulitic Rhyolite! Established in 1974 to allow visitors to dig their own thundereggs and spherulitic rhyolite, the Mount Hay Gemstone Tourist Park remains a popular destination for fossickers seeking these curious volcanic formations. The park will be closed for the Tucson - Kino Gem and Mineral Show USA: CLOSED: 21st January 2019 - 31st March 2019.

We were the only ones there and felt completely safe. Wonderful people who run this - just be careful on the steep dirt climb...

Didn't stay, but fossicking was great (very easy to find nice pieces) and the shop was also reasonably priced.

Great spot to camp and have a bit of a fossick. Ameneties are clean and staff are great.
