The Award-winning Lake Boondooma Caravan and Recreation Park, located 20kms north of Proston, is a draw card for anglers, campers, bird-watchers and water-sports enthusiasts. The dam was purpose-built in 1983 to provide a water supply to the Tarong Power Station. In recent years, under the careful direction of the former Wondai Shire Council and now the South Burnett Regional Council, it has been developed into a major regional recreation area where the fishing is excellent and amenities second to none.

We stayed at the Lookout and it was great with large flat sites, water views and clean amenities. Did some walks and visited the main camp ground. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Honestly a council park charging $44.00 per night for power and water. Rude office staff and also cleaning staff. If you don't want to deal with face to face with people everyday. Please do yourself and everyone else a favour and change your choice of careers. Council you are not providing any thing extra that other parks offer for less cost. Safe travels.

$30 for unpwd expensive for what offered. Very rough getting down the roads - no maintenance done to these. Disappointing $35 for pwr & water. Bush camp on hill for $33 better option for pwr & water.
