Bramwell Station is a working cattle station that offers a welcoming stop for all Cape York Visitors and since 1983 has actively catered for Bus Tours and Individual Travellers. The Station is situated 3 hours North of Weipa / Archer River and 5 hours South of the Tip at the start of the OTT-4WD Adventure Track. The Bramwell Tourist Park offers plenty of cold beer and great meals, as well as campgrounds and accommodation units in a picturesque Cape York setting, adjacent to the original homestead and cattle yards. Often, there is live entertainment at the Bar, so don't be surprised to get caught up in the fun at night. At the station's Tourist Park, the ringing of the station's bell signals happy hour at the licenced Bar, and the start of many an entertaining evening during its busy season. Evenings at the Tourist Park usually kick off with a station chat during happy hour to introduce the property to visitors.

Stayed 1 night on the way to the tip. All unpowered camping. Got a shelter which was great to sit under as it was raining all night. We did not do the dinner so cannot comment on that. They usually do take away pizza as well but not the night we stayed. Amenities were clean, more than enough, there are cold showers as well as hot however the cold wasn't that cold and very refreshing. The 6.5km road in was by far the worst section of road all the way to the tip, it was being graded as we were leaving thankfully.

We stayed on 4th Aug. Great camping area, no need to book for unpowered site and can pull up anywhere. Plenty of shade and sunshine whatever you need. They do an evening meal which is a meat feast with no veggie option so we didn't partake but it's very popular so booking is essential as it was booked up when we are at 2pm. The evening entertainment started well with two great songs but when he switched to comedy it went rapidly down hill. Both he and the magician that followed based their whole routine on humiliation and innuendo picking on members of the audience and commenting on peoples appearance even when they went to buy a drink. It was totally cringe and really embarrassing to witness. I honestly thought people who thought this sort of material was funny had died out in the 80s.

All good here. Just one thing that put an ugly taste in our mouth. The Owner/Manager spoke so horribly. Grumpy and no people skills at all. Spoilt the flavour of our stay.
