Camping area in the Byfield State Forest. It features open-plan camp sites set among pine trees and natural bushland adjacent to Stony Creek. Swimming and walking opportunities. The longer walking tracks are closed, with only one 900m walk open.
Camping permits are required and fees apply. Book online.
There are 14 numbered sites, suitable for: tent camping beside your car with some sites suitable for caravans or motorhomes up to 10m. All sites are unpowered.
Facilities include toilets, individual fire rings, water (treat before drinking). Automatic barbecues and picnic tables are provided in the day-use area only.
Open fires are allowed in fire rings only (except when fire bans apply). Bring your own clean, milled timber. Fuel stoves are recommended.
Generators may be operated only between 8am and 7pm providing they have a sound rating of 65 decibels (2.0Kva) or less.
The camping areas can be reached by conventional vehicle. It is accessible for camper trailers and caravans. 11km along the rough gravel road turn-off signed on Byfield Road. Do not use Upper Stony creek road as it is closed.
Mobile phone coverage is unreliable.
Dogs are not permitted.
