I'm the other person who was there last night (and the night before)! Totally hidden away on The Runway - had it all to myself - tranquility plus. There are 4 new long-drop toilets, so smell was non-existent. Fred & Lee are the perfect hosts, with wonderful plans for the Retreat's future, and their gorgeous little dogs were playmates for Olley. Think about donating some of your water to help the many newly planted trees to survive this dry spell. Looking forward to my next visit already, thanks Fred & Lee.

Just set up and enjoying the peace and tranquility. We had planned to stop at a road side stop about 20km further on that had good reviews and was popular. But then we thought popular = crowded and road side = noise of trucks all night. Then I saw this place. So glad we did. You have to be self contained and it is about three km on a dirt road into the property and at the base of the hills. So calm listening to the birds and not the traffic. Fred and Lee were very welcoming and their dogs are just gorgeous. One other person here but a big distance away. This is my idea of camping and so happy to be privileged to share their land for a short time. Will definitely be back next time we are up this way.

Turn off the highway and when you look ahead you straight away go into relax mode. It is so serene and tranquil here at the bottom of Mugul and watching the stars and shooting stars at night wow. You couldn't ask for better hosts than Fred and Lee. They even have a Airbnb if you need it.
