Camping is permitted behind fragile foredunes, in the Kinkuna Camping Area, just a short walk to the water and beach. Camping permits are required and fees apply. Book well in advance for school holidays and long weekends. Book online or the closest over-the-counter booking agent to the park is Woodgate Beach General Store. Camping tags are available from information shelters at the southern and northern road entrances to the camping area at Kinkuna. Record your booking number on your camping tag. The camping area can be reached by high clearance 4WD vehicle only. It is not recommended for low clearance trailers, caravans or buses. During wet conditions, access roads may be closed as they pass through low lying, swampy areas. Use only established access points across the dunes to reach the beach. Driving on sand requires some care to protect both you and the fragile sand environment. There are 40 unpowered, unmarked sites suitable for tent camping beside your car and 4WD camper trailers. There are no facilities at Kinkuna. Open fires are allowed (except when fire bans apply) but fuel stoves are recommended. Generators are permitted. Be considerate of other campers and keep noise to a minimum. Pets are not permitted. Mobile phone coverage is variable depending on network provider- you may get reception along the beach.
