Description
According to willykdw who checked with the Gympie Regional Council, camping here is allowed. The restriction about only camping if traveling with horses applies only to physically parking on the Showground.

Things were wet on the grass so we stopped on the bitumen area to avoid damaging the area. There were 4 vans here and even though it was close to the road, the trucks stopped after about 7pm. Toilets and a dump point are a plus as well as being close to town.

Stayed last night. Nice and simple. Easy walk to town. Spent $130 butcher, cafe and roadside fruit/honey stall. Thanks Kilkivan. Very friendly townsfolk. We'll be back.

Lovely town with this as one of two free camp options. Had only one other camper, access to clean toilet and dump point, and bonus of parking on hard surface. Great location!
