Description
Kalpowar camping area, located at the start of McNae Road, is accessible by unsealed roads that are suitable for conventional two-wheel-drive vehicles (recommend entering via Barrimoon Road). The grassy camp site is located in an open forest setting.
Camping permits and fees apply. Advanced booking is required. A camping tag with your booking must be displayed at your camp site.
The camping area can be reached by conventional vehicles; trailers; caravans; buses; and motor homes only in dry conditions. Please check road conditions before booking your site.
Facilities include tank water (must be treated before drinking), pit toilets, picnic tables, and communal fire rings (must bring own firewood.) Note: Tank water is very brown from leaf litter and possibly rust.
Rubbish bins are not provided at Kalpowar State Forest. Take all your rubbish out of the park for appropriate disposal.
Dogs (on a leash) are permitted at Kalpowar State Forest, including the camping area.
Bring a fuel stove for cooking. If you want to use the fire rings you will need to bring your own, clean, milled firewood. It is illegal to collect firewood from the forest.
Generator use is allowed. Please be considerate of your neighbours. Generators that operate at a noise level less than 65dB(A) at 7m are permitted. Generators must be shut down by 10pm.
