There also was a small dam but it was dry when we were there. My partner got 1 Bar of Telstra reception. Enjoy!

Thought I'd leave a recent review. Road in is really only suitable for 4WD, although a high 2WD could do it in dry conditions. Road in is a very narrow, red Sandy(deep sand in some places) windy road. There is a section of about 100 meters where you drive up a rocky outcrop, it's rough, the rocks are sharp in sections and protrude. Take it SLOW and let your tyres down. A 4WD with a smal/medium manoeuvrable camper could probably make it in, but a caravan would not. Corrugated is places, but again, just take it slow. Once you get to the fossicking area, there are a few nice camp spots with views of the mountain, can be windy though. Very remote so no noise. As far as fossicking goes, we found loads of Garnet. All over the road, the creek and in big rocks. Looking for a small red stone.

Well described by Youmeandflea below. We camped with our caravan at the zircon fields and came out for the day. Good fun. Lots of little garnets.
