Description
Info Centre open. Cafe closed.
------
Named after the Bowali Creek which flows nearby, the centre's long linear design was inspired by an Aboriginal Rock Shelter. The Bowali Visitor Centre contains a wealth of information about Kakadu. Open 8.00 am to 5.00 pm every day except Christmas Day.
This is a great first-stop on your Kakadu adventure. Staff are on hand to answer questions and help you plan your walks and activities. There is a walk-through display where you'll learn more about the plants, animals and landscapes you'll see in the park.
You'll find the Anmak An-me Café and Marrawuddi Gallery here, and an air-conditioned library which is a great spot to cool off and relax with a book. There's also a recharging station in Bowali.
Refreshments are available from the Anmak An-me Café daily from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm daily.
No camping or overnight parking.

I also believe the prices for a park pass are expensive for what you get. We visited Kakadu for three day and planned out each day by booking a total of 10 talks and tours all funded by the cost of the pass. All but 2 got cancelled and one of those 2, that still ran, the ranger didn't turn up. This obviously was disappointing, but we still got on with it. It's not a good look for the park and I will be reluctant to recommend to others going there based on doing talks and tours.

Good info centre and the staff were helpful. My gripe is about the cost of the National Park Fees, very overpriced for what's on offer and in comparison to other National Parks and what you see there, there's no comparison. Anyway I've now seen it, done it but I won't be back at those prices.

Not very helpful. Seemed like staff had zero care factor. Very disappointing.
