Enjoyed Kakadu in a 2wd, the artwork & guided ranger talks were really good...enjoyed seeing crocs in the wild without paying for a boat cruise.Entry fee is too expensive though!

Kakadu was underwhelming. drive from Pine Creek to Cooinda was not pretty prescribed burns blackened the vegetation. Cooinda resort and restaurant was good, shaded sites; average ablutions (300m from our caravan site) but at $69pn wow. We should have booked a medium site at $59 but website was confusing about size. waterholes and walking tracks everywhere were closed except Maguk (Barramundi Creek). had to wade through ankle deep creek and climb over rocks the last third of the walk. Kids would love it. The Yellow Water sunset cruise $99. crocks and plenty of birds at the boat ramp just no commentary. park fee of $30. Drive from Mary River to Jabiru nice.
