This place is a MUST!$ 20 per person per night There's 2 areas to camp: first camp ground is numbered and you have to book in advance however we stayed on the open river and OMG I'm glad we did! These camps are 30kms down from the homestead (the track is pretty easy, no issues getting our car & van down here) . Camp right on the river and most of the camps are perched up abit from the river which has been great as there are snapping handbags here and our kids just love the water Put your tinny in and get fishing otherwise people have been catching fish and crabs right off the bankOR just set up camp, RELAX and take in the amazing views! -PS the sunsets are UNREAL! Great fishing and heaps of mudcrab Follow us on YouTube, Facebook and instagram. YouTube episode coming soon

Booked for 5 nights a stayed a 6th. Frank and his family looked after us beautifully. We stayed in Camp-site 2 which had shelter, flushing toilet and a donkey shower (you can heat it with a fire but most days the heat of the sun was enough). The view of the river was incredible. We didn't have a boat but you can camp down by the coast if you're self sufficient. We had great success fishing from the banks. Can't reccomend this place highly enough. They're working hard to preserve the history of the area and our kids learnt so much from Frank who gave generously of his time and energy answering all of their questions with patience. Make sure you check out the shop at the homestead, you can buy candles, tea, lip balms and ointments that are made onsite.

WOW what a bloody gem of a stay. we are currently travelling Oz and been to VIC Tasmania , NSW and QLD and Seven Emus is on the top of our spots. We camped high on the river at camp spot 1 . We booked for 3 nights and stayed for 9. The sunsets, fish , crabs and birds were in abundance and the hot shower and flushing toilet was magic. Frank , Arthur , Clary , Casey , Marissa and Karleen were just amazing people. We did not want to leave. We both shed a tear as we waved goodbye. We will be back very soon. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and piece of paradise.
