Description

Isolated Limmen National Park offers a wonderful remote park experience, but you will need to be fully self-reliant when you visit. You should have enough fuel and food for your journey. There are no services for 522km between Mataranka and Cape Crawford. Closest fuel to the north of the park is the Urapunga (15km from Roper Bar) or Ngukurr (35km from Roper Bar). There are very limited fuel supplies at Limmen Bight Fishing Camp and Lorella Springs Wilderness Park. Please drive carefully. All roads within the Park are unsealed and can be closed due to seasonal flooding from November to May. Roads leading to the Park may also be affected by flooding at this time. Check Park road conditions by phoning 1800 246 199, or checking the road conditions website: www.roadreport.nt.gov.au Camping fees apply and sites must be booked and paid for online. Sites are unpowered and suitable for tents, camper trailers, caravans, motrohomes and big rigs. Facilities include toilets, hot showers, water, picnic tables, bins, gas bbq's, fire pits and dump. Only use generators between 7.30am to 8.30pm. Chainsaws are not permitted in the park.

Great spot with great facilities and very clean . Wife caught a great Barra in river when we went fishing. Very friendly campers with a great happy hour every night to share stories. Graders are working on roads east and road to roper bar was great.

The road from Roper to Lorella is shocking. Hard to keep your speed up and constant due to so many turns. I think the posters below have it wrong. We came for one night but stayed for three as we were waiting for the general store to open for diesel on our way to Mataranka - NO DIESEL AVAILABLE at the moment by the way. The people who seem to have been camped here for a while were nothing but friendly and inclusive to whoever wanted to sit around the fire with them. It seems to be set up more like a communal area where people can join and have a chat, no malice there at all. Great hot showers too :)
