Coming up Stuart highway we drove the dirt track in. A few corrugations and rough bits, but drive to conditions and lower speed. Took the last turn off in just before the 5km camp zone ended and drove down access track. Promptly got stuck in soft sand near our camp site, unhitch trailer, lower pressures and drove straight out with a little digging. Great spot in the ghost gums by river bed, firewood allowed from river bed. Only ones here , very nice spot for camper trailer but would be hard for caravan with narrow sandy tracks. Imagine a lot of blokes with swags around a camp fire for a 4wd weekend from Alice....

Bird paradise budgies everywhere in hollowed out trees in a delightful dry river valley area. The ghost gums create a spectacular backdrop at sun set and sun rise. We are the only ones here by the looks of it, wine time arrrrhhh.
