Central Arnhem Rd, East Arnhem, Northern Territory

To travel the Central Arnhem Road (4WD only) requires crossing many clan lands and a permit from the Northern Land Council (NLC) is required. Permits generally only provide for entry and access to Aboriginal land. This means that unless your permit includes specific conditions that allow for other activities (eg. fishing, hunting, camping, commercial filming) you do not have permission to engage in such activities. If you want to engage in particular activities you need to include that in your permit application. There is no cost for this permit but it is necessary to monitor the numbers of people on the road to maintain this region. Do not swim at the river crossings as salt water crocodiles inhabit these areas.

Campsite Closed We stayed here nearly to weeks ago, beautiful spot. When we drove past today they were closing both the entrys so you are unable to access it now.

Great stop on the goyder river. The river was flowing in may 25th 2022 we where on our way out and decided to camp here crossed 2 rivers comming in from the west end all ass about, first crossing was 1/4 tyre deep and hard base, 2nd goyder river hard base 3/4 tyre sand on the east exit easy crossed both with a 20 foot Nova terra sports. 100% awesome free camp. We left the camp cleaner than we found it. Like everyone visiting up should too.

Nice little spot for night or two. We came from West and got our 20 foot van through the river but best to come in from the East.
