Nice location, came with a Faraway Campers: Camel off road caravan 14ft + drawbar, some tight squeezes and rough sections, but most good and got here no damage and early enough to cast a line, light a fire and cook dinner with family of 4. Camped under falcon's nest, just beautiful to hear the baby and watch the parents bring food. Lots and lots of crocks! Lots of mozzies, no repellent would work completely, especially with the little black crawling things that stick on you and go all over between your hairs. But it's nice here, very remote. Stayed a couple of nights by the water (at a respectful distance). Lots of barra jumping! Now to catch one from the bank...

Road is open from both directions. There are 2 sides to this campground, when you get to the fork (a few kms down from bucket billabong) there's a section just to the right and another section to the left past the gate and river crossing. Both sections are nice, though we liked the one on the left because the banks were higher and you have clear views down the length of the billabong. Definitely crocs here, we saw a couple of that were 3.5 - 4m and some guys in a boat told us they had a 5m croc charge them. We stayed 3 nights and thought it was pretty great

I have to say, the reviews are a bit confusing, so I made a little bit of research on google and we found that place quite easily. Coming from Arnhem Hwy, the turn off to the camp-site is at 36km from the information bay. There's a little yellow sign right before, letting us know that it's nearly there, and big red sign at the beggining of the road, although a bit hidden. The road there is not too bad, it's a good corrugated road, took us about 30min to get there, a bit bumpy and got narrower toward the end, no water . Watch out for wallabies on the way. The camp-site is lovely, not much mozzies, would go back there for sure!
