Description

----- Take your budget further and get 5% off when you use the code WELWIKI5 on your booking through the link on WikiCamps. Enjoy your experience! ----- Take a trip to Kakadu National Park and follow the trail of Mick Dundee from the iconic Australian movies Crocodile Dundee and Crocodile Dundee 2. The adventure begins with hotel pick-ups in Jabiru, travelling on board a comfortable Toyota Prado, which fits up to six passengers. The first stop is a 40 min drive north through open woodland savanna and vast floodplains as you head into escarpment country. Once here, you'll walk through to see some of the Aboriginal rock art. Your guide will explain some of the ancient art, giving you a more in-depth insight into the culture and history of the region. When you reach the top of the escarpment, which is a moderate climb, you will see where Mick points down to where he got attacked by the croc The Rapid River, as he calls it. You'll enjoy an early lunch from this location, which includes roast chicken, potato and fresh garden salads, fruit juice, tea or coffee. Iced water is supplied to refill your water bottles. After lunch, go in search of that big croc with a short drive to The East Alligator River, which separates Arnhemland and Kakadu. Here you can get some "snappy" shots of the local crocodiles. Increasing numbers move into the area towards the end of the dry season (July-October). Then another short drive later, you'll go for walk through spectacular sandstone outcrops, caves and past a small billabong along the edge of the East Alligator River. This will take you to the location where Mick Dundee gave reporter Sue Charlton the job of keeping an eye on the tied-up bad guys. Enjoy a light afternoon snack while here before making the journey back to Jabiru. Guests will also need to ensure they purchase a Kakadu National Park pass and carry it with themat all times
