Bitter Springs is located in the northern end of Elsey National Park. A 500m waterway is fed by an underground spring that gently flows down a watercourse lined with cabbage palms. There is a short 500m loop walk available at Bitter Springs.
Spring water rises from under the ground at a rate of 30.5 million litres per day, 300L per minute. The 33 degree water is then contained in pools surrounded by paperbark and palm forests. Swimming is permitted.
Dogs are not permitted.
No camping or overnight parking allowed.
