Wiligi Outstation
CampgroundDescription
Wiligi Outstation is a remote Outstation which is nestled on a cliff overlooking Mount Norris Bay and Copeland island, just outside the Garig Gunak Barlu National Park on the Cobourg Peninsula.
We provide a choice of three types of accommodation- Eco Tents, Log Cabin and Camping. Wiligi offers spectacular ocean views, pristine waterways, a diversity of fauna and flora, sensational fishing and is a rugged, peaceful, undeveloped, unspoilt piece of paradise.
One can watch some of the most spectacular sunsets and sunrises from Wiligi, overlooking over the pristine waters of Mount Norris Bay.
Now Wiligi offers an additional chance to visit and relax, in the wet season as well as the dry.
Cobourg Peninsula is a sort after place to visit, the numbers of visitors are limited, and a permit is required. To camp in the Garig Gunak Barlu National Park at Smith Point you may have to wait up to a year for a permit to access the National Park as it has a limit to the number of cars that can enter the park at any one time.
The large camping areas have shade, beautiful views and a camp fire area. There is plenty of wood available to collect for your camp fires, there is drinking water and newly constructed in 2013 flush toilets and showers, cold water only.
Campers are welcome to bring their own boats. Keen to go fishing? Boat Hire is available, book in advance to avoid disappointment.
