Description

The Diamond Head walk is a fantastic short coastal trek in NSW that provides breathtaking views, whale watching spots, and a plethora of wildflowers during spring. The walk is a loop that can commence at either the Diamond Head or Indian Head campgrounds. It covers various vegetation types, including heath, casuarina, blackbutt, and rainforest. In 1770, Capt. James Cook first caught a glimpse of Diamond Head, mistaking the shining quartz for diamonds. The walk provides stunning views of the coast and the Camden Haven hinterland, with the Three Brother Mountains standing out. Don't forget to visit Kylie's Hut, located 200 meters from Indian Head campsite, which served as an inspiration to author Kylie Tenant in the 1930s and 40s.
