Milparinka Heritage Precinct/Milparinka Courthouse

Description
A historic precinct and information centre run by volunteers who endeavour to share the early Aboriginal history, as well as that of the explorer Charles Sturt and his party, the Albert Gold Fields and the many scattered communities that sprung up during this time. The entry fee to all the buildings is $10 per person, $8 concession and children are free. This fee allows access to the Courthouse, Police Barracks & WW1 memorial, Gaol cells, Charles Sturt & Sr Sidney Kidman Museum, Gold Museum, agricultural sheds and the recently built Mineral, Rock & Fossil Centre. There is also the recently restored post office that will soon house the history of the post office, the school and dog fence. Wander around the buildings, sit for awhile in the Harry Blore Park where you can pay your respects at the children's memorial, consider an overnight stay in the recently renewed camp ground to view the amazing night skies, the amazing sunsets while enjoying a meal at the Albert Hotel. For a small town there is a lot to see and enjoy, the perfect outback history lesson.
