You are now required to make a booking for all campgrounds and campsites in NSW national parks. This includes locations that were previously available for use without a booking. This is necessary to protect our visitors and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Book online or contact the National Parks Contact Centre on 1300 072 757. At Private Town campground, you can camp near the historic ghost town with its rich mining heritage, while enjoying the rugged wilderness of Yerranderie Regional Park. There are 10 sites, suitable for tents. 4WD access only. Arrange payment, or make any enquiries with the Yerranderie caretaker (Krubi Cottage residence beside the campground in Private Town). Accessed via 4WD Oberon Colong historic stock route, the campground allows you to absorb the incredible, rugged wilderness of the environment, complete with a rich array of native wildlife, including bounding kangaroos, charming wombats, and a wide range of native birds. No access from Sydney (Oakdale).
