Description

This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow. Pitch your tent or park your camper in one of four paddocks. The Paddocks are relatively flat and easy to traverse as well as divided to make your event more manageable. Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120 acre (50 hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family. Over the ensuing years we have continued to repair and increase the biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity and food. With the increased biodiversity you will find that in the mornings and evening kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbit and hare; and not to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with their songs. We also have some friendly magpies whom we rescued who will chat away to you. If you bring a dog, it needs to be controlled at all times due to the wildlife. The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. Drinking water only is provided with multiple taps located in the paddocks. We have a purpose installed Ablutions block with Composting toilets and a hot shower. We run on the leave no trace principles so our preference is that you take home what your bring but we can arrange for collection at an additional cost (council charges us to use the Dump). Around the dome is a firepit (fire ban dependent), and a camp kitchen with a 6 burner BBQ and sink (remember to be eco friendly washing liquid). We have limited numbers of plates, cups, cutlery and other bits and pieces for you to use should you hire the van. If you don't have a tent, you can hire one or hire the onsite camper with queen size bed. Close enough to Canberra for day trips, yet quite to relax after a day site seeing. Also the local Yass River is a place locals fish - so you can try your
