You are now required to make a booking for all campgrounds and campsites in NSW national parks. This includes locations that were previously available for use without a booking. Book online or contact the National Parks Contact Centre on 1300 072 757. Dead Horse Gully campground in Sturt National Park near Tibooburra in outback NSW offers sites for caravans and motor homes and is close to touring routes and walks. Dead Horse Gully campground is about 1.5km north of Tibooburra. To get there, follow the Silver City Highway out of town and turn left at the campground sign. There are unsealed roads suitable for 2WD vehicles. Sites are unpowered, unmarked and suitable for tents, camper trailers, caravans and camping beside your vehicle. Facilities include picnic tables, barbecue facilities, carpark and toilets. Water is available at this campground, however you'll need to treat it before drinking. Park entry fees apply. This is a remote campground, please make sure you arrive well prepared; bring appropriate clothing and equipment and advise a family member or friend of your travel plans. Check the weather before you set out as roads in Sturt National Park may close following rain. Gathering firewood, pets and smoking are not permitted.
