Nambucca Shire Council permits overnight stays for travellers in self contained vehicles within allocated rest areas in Macksville. 5 spaces are available for self contained recreation vehicles in in Princess Street opposite the Council Chambers. 6.5 m max length. The area is signposted with directions on where vehicles can park and the conditions of use. Vehicles shall only occupy parking bays of sufficient size to fully accommodate the vehicle. Vehicles can only park in the allocated areas for a maximum of one night. Camper trailers, tents, annexes, and the like are not permitted to be erected. This location is patrolled by Council Rangers with penalties enforced for noncompliance. Recreation vehicles (RVs) and caravans are considered to be self-contained vehicles when sleeping, cooking, and toilet facilities are located within the vehicle and all waste can be collected and disposed of at a lawful location.
