Description

You are now required to make a booking for all campgrounds and campsites in NSW national parks. This includes locations that were previously available for use without a booking. This is necessary to protect our visitors and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Book online or contact the National Parks Contact Centre on 1300 072 757. This location is a free campground, however a booking fee of $6 per site applies. Money collected will be used to manage campground numbers and improve your safety. Camp by the river at Coorongooba campground in Wollemi National Park. Fill your days with easy walks, paddling in the shallow river and birdwatching in this World Heritage-listed landscape. This campground is accessed via a causeway which may be unpassable after heavy rain. Check the weather before you set out as the road to Coorongooba campground can become boggy when it rains. Access via unsealed road. Most roads suitable for 2WD vehicles, 4WD required in wet weather. Sites are unmarked and unpowered and suitable for tents, camper trailers and camping beside your vehicle. Facilities include picnic tables, wood barbecues (bring your own firewood) and non-flush toilets. Water is not available at this campground. If you take water from the creeks in the park, remember to treat or boil it. Please take all garbage with you when you leave. This is a remote campground and there are very limited facilities, please make sure you arrive well prepared. The Capertee river trail is also a great place for birdwatching. Its close to a breeding site for the endangered regent honeyeater, so if youre there during spring, keep your eyes open for fledglings learning to fly. Pets are not permitted.
