Description

The Lake George Mine is situated at Captains Flat, approximately 50km south east of Canberra. The mine operated from 1892 until 1962, producing lead, zinc, copper, pyrite, silver and gold. Visitors can walk around the site and will find a lookout with information boards and good views of the town. No camping or overnight parking allowed
