The Big Galah stands at 8 metres high in front of the Halfway Across Australia Gem Shop on the Eyre Highway. The Gem shop offers local gemstones, carved emu eggs, souvenirs, opal, Cowell Jade, as well as food and beverages.
Shop Trading Hours:
Weekdays 8-5pm, Weekends: 9-3pm, Closed Public Holidays.
No camping or overnight parking.

The cafe is ridiculously overpriced!!! Would never stop again. None of the prices on display. $20 for an iced coffee, pasty and turnover. When I questioned she vaguely said the 500ml iced coffee was $7. She claimed it was not a budget shop.

The big galah is great, especially after the new paint. Shop was closed but very sad and disappointed to see galahs in a cage, definitely not needed.
