Ranger Station closed which was so disappointing. We needed to find out why Maguk was closed after driving 1 hour to get there only to find it was closed with no explanation. We have been so unimpressed with the management of Kakadu down the south end of the park. We have been getting most of our information from other tourists about waterfalls and sites in this end of park. Isn't this supposed to be a world heritage listed park???

Ranger station was open today. Very helpful ranger on duty.

Kakadu or kakadont - I say Kakadu! A lot of mixed reviews so we were hesitant to go also considering the $80 park pass you need however so glad we did! We were also lucky that most things had also re-opened. We booked as many of the local guided ranger tours as we could which really made the trip for us. A very scenic mix in Kakadu from wetlands, woodlands and monsoon forests, plus animal life. Many great rock art sites (Ubirr, Burrungkuy & Nanguluwur) and Jim Jim Falls was great.
