Description
Stop in at Hartley Historic Site Visitor Centre to find out about the history of the buildings and town, book tours, and stock up on snacks and drinks.
Opening times: 10am to 4.20pm Tuesday to Sunday. Closed on Mondays, Public Holidays, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Hartley Historic Site Visitor Centre is itself housed in a colonial building: the Farmers Inn. The central portion of this single-storey building, corresponding with the verandah, was the original part of the house. At either end of the building are added rooms, which were probably built when the building became an inn in about 1865. Some original iron roof survives today, as well as the chimneys.
Dogs are permitted in Hartley Historic Site, but youll need to keep them on a leash at all times.

Drove in with caravan on way back from out west. Room along road to turn van around. Old Post Office Cafe served good coffee. Interesting history and couple of short walks to stretch legs. We'll be back.

Lovely little historic town. Very clean toilets. A good place for a break with a couple of nice walks.

Nice little place parking in the Coach only parking welcomed by the residents. New Toilets at the back of the visitor's centre. Could've locked after hours.
