Are you worried about the road out to Mungo Lodge? Dont be! We rang the lodge a couple of nights before and on the day to get the latest info about the road. It was in good condition and an easy drive. What a spectacular place for free camping. The amenities are basic but clean. The restaurant was good. We had dinner and lunch. We also took the tout out to the lunette. Stunning country. Would go back in a heart beat!

Facilities good, staff helpful, sunset tour was ok. The big drawback was an unpowered site for $58 for 2 Adults one night! Not surprisingly there were only 2 vans there including us. You can camp nearby for less than half the cost but no showers. This exorbitant site cost deterred us staying on another night and spending on food and drinks in the restaurant which looked good! Mungo NP is excellent!
