Beautiful spot overlooking the dam. Only a handful of campers tonight. I camped in the unpowered section down near the water. No designated sites for unpowered - just go pick a spot. Bring your levelling ramps. There are almost no level sites. There are 2 amenities blocks - 1 old and the other new. The amenities were very clean. The camp kitchen is clean and well equipped.

We camped in the powered section due to the cold weather but had a great fire to keep us warm. An amazing outlook. We were fast asleep when at 11pm we heard a screeching and loud bang on our caravan. On looking with a torch I found drag marks of an animal from the top of the van down to a wire wood storage rack we have on the front of the van. It appears that a possum had climbed up on our roof but slipped off and landed on the wire rack and then jumped off. It woke us with a start!! After that in the morning I had a paddle across the lake which was stunning. A lovely spot which I wish I could have spent more time.

Stayed at Windermere for a night, right on the water. $26 for the unpowered site. Bought $20 bag of fire wood, great wood, generous bag for price. Put the boat in and pulled it up in front of our camp. The unpowered area down by the water is all sloped, we had wedges to level out which was lucky :) Enjoyed our stay! Staff were mostly friendly.
