Well placed next to Maitland Showground, near all the Maitland sports fields and a short drive to shops and attractions, from Maitland you can visit the wineries and upper Hunter with ease. Historic Maitland is just 10 minute drive.

Called ahead, made a booking several days in advance. On arrival for a 3 day long weekend - no booking had been recorded. Older CP appears to have some interesting long term permanents and office had that lovely tobacco scent. We went to the Showgrounds around the corner where caretaker, Ray was happy to get us settled in for our stay.

Old Park but would stay there again if passing. Managers were nice, helpful and approachable. Amenities although dated as in most parks were clean and usable with very hot showers. Trains at night could be an issue for some but this is outside of the parks control.

Only ok for a quick stop over. Managers friendly, helpful. Old place needs mainainance, but toilettes and bath facilities good hot water. Camp kitchen is not usable.
