Description
This rest area is located on the Newell Highway 39.4km North of Gilgrandra and is accessible to vehicles travelling in both directions.
Rest areas are a place where you can stop and rest, making your journey safer and more enjoyable. You can stop at a rest area to rest and manage fatigue however they are not intended as camping sites and stays longer than 24 hours are not permitted.
Facilities include: Toilets, picnic tables, shelters, and rubbish bins.
This is a combined truck and car rest area. Please do not park in the truck parking area and ensure there is plenty of room for trucks to enter and exit the site and to park and take their mandatory rest.

Had a decent overnight camp the other night, the level ground made it good for sleeping in the van. Toilets aren't bad either but bring a roll of loo paper just in case. Not too much disturbance bar the odd truck on the road. Would be happy to pull in on another trip.

Unfortunately the road traffic has increased since COVID has lessened. There were about 30 trucks per hour coming by between 6 pm and 9.30pm. They are very noisy due to speed limit of 110kph. If you do not like noise then this is not the place to stop. It was also raining which caused many puddles and muddy sections making it difficult to use amenities (toilet and tables). AND don't mention the refrigerated truck with motor going for 8 hours which turned up at midnight.
