Description

PRE-BOOK THROUGH HIPCAMP WEBSITE ONLY. We do not accept drive-in campers without first making a booking through the hipcamp website. Our family property is a mix of open paddocks, large areas of native forests, and an establishing fruit and vegetable farm, located just 2km from the edge of Tathra. There are some beautiful forest walking trails on our property, access to the walking tracks and beautiful secluded coves of Bournda National Park, as well as direct access to the new Tathra to Kalaru bike track (currently being built) and the Tathra Mountain Bike Trail Network. The property was home to the former and well-loved 'Kangarutha Nursery', and more recently 'On the Perch Bird Park'. This business site is currently closed, and we are in the process of re-imagining the space. Shared toilet is available a short walk (200m) from the campsite. Dog friendly for dogs that do not chase wildlife or horses (otherwise keep on a lead). Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place, you can gather own wood, there is plenty around.

Parking in a paddock with no amenities, this place is dearer than the nearest caravan park.

We spend a few nights at the Bush camp. Spacious spot to see just the stars at night. The flush toilets (a little bit of a walk/bike ride from our side) were very clean, same as the camp site. Drinking water was available and also fire wood which we purchased of the host for the allocated fire pitch. There was a lot to do: e.g. bush walk around the property, Mountainbiking, exploring Tathra/local beaches/lagoons and national parks. Our hosts, Lisa and Tom, were very friendly and helpful. If you looking for something individually, out of the crowd, this is the place to be. We can highly recommend to stay at Kangarutha Farm.
