Bush camping in the Pokolbin State Forest offering spectacular views. 4WD is required to access this site. There are no facilities. Campers must be self-sufficient. Take all rubbish with you and leave no trace.

Just pure delight. Dropped in for one night, two sites up the top of the bumpy road. Setup camper on site closest to view, then only 30m walk to 180' views of Cessnock and full wine district. Peace, quiet and perfection. No amenities but a beautiful location for views forever, stunning sunrise and one friendly goanna.

This is a must do if you can be self sufficient - an absolute HIGHLIGHT of our trip around Aus! You will likely be the only campers and will enjoy the best view of your life, looking out over the hunter (with view of the Cessnock city lights at night). The road up is quite long and the last bit is rough enough to need a 4wd but you could also park a non 4wd vehicle at the bottom of this part, and walk about 100m to the campsite

Budget Off-Road Touring
Set up our Jayco Swan Outback right on the cliff face overlooking Cessnock. Plenty of room for a few extra swags next to where we were or plenty of open space a touch closer. Beautiful views, the pup loved it. Very quiet, will be back for sure
