Caravan Park

3.5 from 13 users

A rare insight into the underground world of our miners awaits you at Roxby Downs, deep in the Australian outback. Just over two hours from Port Augusta and 563 kilometres from Adelaide, Roxby Downs is a must-see. Discovery Parks - Roxby Downs (formerly Myall Grove Holiday Park) is a well-appointed caravan park with facilities that will surprise you. You'll be amazed by the jaw-dropping BHP Billiton Olympic Dam, which produces 9 million tonnes of ore annually - we recommend the virtual underground tour. Take a guided sunset walk of the Arid Recovery Reserve to explore dunes, follow animal tracks and spot nocturnal wildlife. While you're there, don't forget the fascinating town of Andamooka - an opal lover's paradise.

Bit pricey for one person per night and no unpowered.

Pretty quite here only a couple of caravans. The park is catering 100% for workers not tourists with only a handful of powered sites. Nice sites with gravel, some with mats. The free washing machines are a very nice bonus. Other than that, not much to do in a town that has many vacant shops as BHP shifts to FIFO rather than local residents. The amount of houses for sale is scary on Real

Set up for the miners but a few sites. Amenities good and clean.

It was alright a bit gravel parking but this is the outback. Overall pretty clean and tidy, Walk into town ok, town so clean and friendly worth a stop.

Very pleasant staff Lesley was a great host cleanest ammenities over a 5500 km trip from Qld nice hot shower after a long haul free camping on the Oodnadatta track over 3 nights couldn't rate it any higher green grassy areas great spot too restock supplies woolies close by $30 no power not to bad really considering location no hesitation staying here again I sense some bad reviewers of this place are gunna get a rude shock in their travels

We intended to stay but the lukewarm reception and being expected to pay $36 for an unpowered tent site was a deal breaker. Oh, and they would have to 'turn off the sprinklers so we could camp on the grass down the back' Didn't feel welcome :-(

A great park. Very clean and tidy and we were glad of the wind breaks. Very good amenities.

Great town to stock up in after being in the outback. Good showers, two camp kitchens and small play area for kids. Top parks meant kids were free at time of staying.

What sort of c.p. does not answer the phone at 12.30 on Sunday or 5.30pm on Saturday. Says ' OFFICE HOURS' ???? And says book via web - this web reference here on wiki is not connected!

Very good/clean/ friendly, recommend, be better with a pool
